Blowing off steam: The latest on campuses

They’re stressed – and they need to do something about it.
So, many college students across the country stand outside at night – often in pajamas – and for one minute they … well, can you guess?
They scream.
More specifically, they let out a “primal scream.”
It’s a tradition at numerous colleges, including Northwestern, Stanford and Harvard – also Messiah College in Pennsylvania and Northland College in Wisconsin.
Maybe screaming relieves stress – and maybe not.
But it seems many students are looking for ways to cope with the pressure of exams and the often new responsibility of living on their own.
Even the professors are getting involved at New York University, cooking up late-night breakfasts during exam time and holding “tea and empathy” sessions so students can talk about their concerns with the faculty.
Does your school offer any off-the-beaten track ways to help students blow off steam? Let us know in the comments section below.
