Is Bing the next Google?

Have you tried Bing yet? The people at Microsoft are sure hoping you have – because they’d like the new search engine to give Google a run for its money.

Bing’s reviews so far are fairly favorable. And although there are many similarities between the two search engines, there are some features unique to Bing. Here’s a list of what’s good about Bing, courtesy of Business Hacks:

  • You can save a search and view it again later
  • You can search for specific file types
  • For directory assistance, traffic conditions, weather reports and directions, just dial 800-BING-411

Those are just some of the highlights. But don’t take anyone’s word of it – see for yourself. Click here to compare the difference between a Google search and a Bing search.

Just make sure to let us know which one you prefer in the comments section below.

  1. Michelle Says:

Yes and I do not like it!

  2. Lorraine Says:

    I HATE IT

  3. Timporary Bowers Says:

Bing has much more visual appeal, seems better organized, and more accessible. Difficult to tell which page may have more useful or relevant information

  4. Karl Says:

Bing seems to use different weighting algorithms to determine its results. It’s just different than Google – not easy to spot pages that are trying to raise their hit count.

  5. MaryAnne Says:

Love it! Much more informative, easier to read and find what I am looking for. Not cluttered with stuff! Seems to have more valuable information readily available. Go Bing!

  6. Cyn Kelley Says:

I like a lot about Bing – the organization, the looks, searching for file types. Finding images is easier than Google because they fit so many more on a page, but the images could load a wee bit faster. I’m not sure why anyone would say they “hate” it.

  7. Nora Tsay Says:

I have used “Bing” for quite a few times by now and find it easy to use and very informative and decision making is easier with Bing.
