Will new college grads be able to find jobs in the coming year? A new survey may have the answers.
Seems the job market is going to stay pretty much the same in 2010.
In 2009, hiring dropped about 40% and – and that’s what college graduates can expect in 2010, according to Michigan State University’s Collegiate Employment Research Institute .
Of the 1,800 companies surveyed, only 27% reported having firm plans to hire new grads.
The most desirable job applicant these days is someone who is flexible and could fit a wide range of positions, says Phil Gardner, the institute director.
“Skills are paying off more than a degree per se,” Gardner says.
