Steps to land high enrollment

Of the students accepted to your college this spring, exactly how many will enroll by the fall?
Colleges throughout the country are going the extra mile in hopes of boosting their enrollment.
Here’s what some higher ed institutions are doing:
- When students are accepted to Xavier University in Louisiana, they’re immediately assigned a school e-mail address to make them feel a part of the college community. This university is also offering one-on-one help filling out FAFSA forms.
- Morehouse College in Georgia is sending out financial aid offers close on the heels of its letters of admission.
- Tightening connections with high school guidance counselors, Spelman College in Georgia has seen a 40% increase in visits to its campus. Accepting a larger number of students hasn’t hurt either.
- In Maryland, Morgan State University has boosted written, e-mail and telephone contact with students by 10%.
